WHAT WE BELIEVE

We recognize the authority of the Bible as God's Word. We do not recognize the authority of creeds issued by councils of men, but we do in all sincerity and humility offer a statement of faith that expresses the essential doctrines we believe and preach.

SECTION I. THE BIBLE: We believe that the Bible is God's infallible Word, written by men who were divinely and uniquely inspired, and that it is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice. We affirm our belief in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the Scriptures in their original form.

SECTION II. THE TRINITY: We believe in the Trinity of God. There are three Persons in the Godhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; these three are one God, the same in Substance, equal in Power and Glory.

SECTION III. GOD: We believe in God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power. We rejoice that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

SECTION IV. JESUS CHRIST: We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, born of a virgin, sinless in His life, who atoned for the sins of the world by His death on the cross. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into Heaven, His High Priestly intercession for His people, and His personal, visible return to the world in power and glory according to His promise.

SECTION V. THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit came forth from God to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, comfort, and seal forever those who believe in Jesus Christ.

SECTION VI. SALVATION: We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by practice, but that "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." We believe, therefore, that those who accept Christ as Lord and Savior shall forever be in God's presence, and that those who reject Christ as Savior and Lord will be forever separated from God.

SECTION VII. THE CHURCH: We believe that the local church is composed of regenerated immersed believers, voluntarily united together for the purpose of the worship of God, the fellowship of believers, and the proclamation of the Gospel of Christ throughout the whole world.

SECTION VIII. BAPTIST DISTINCTIVE: We believe that our Baptist distinctives are scripturally sound. They include the competency of the individual soul in direct approach to God; the priesthood of all believers; a regenerate church membership; the symbolic ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper; the autonomy of the local church and the fellowship with other Baptist churches; and solemn obligation to majority rule within the church, with equal rights to all and special privileges to none; the absolute separation of church and state; and a world-wide program of missionary endeavor in obedience to the final command of our Lord.

SECTION IX. MANKIND: We believe God originally created mankind free from sin; He created them male and female. We believe man fell, and thus all people are sinners by nature and choice, and are spiritually dead. We further believe that human life is precious and should be protected from its beginning, at fertilization, until death. We believe God established marriage to be a lifelong, covenantal union between one man and one woman. Therefore, this church will only recognize unions consistent with this definition of marriage. Marriage so defined is the only permissible context for intimate sexual expression and is the foundation for the human family. Hence, sexual relations outside of marriage, including but not limited to, adultery, premarital sex, homosexuality, and pedophilia are inconsistent with the teachings of the Bible. Further, lascivious conduct, transgender behavior, and the creation and/or distribution and/or viewing of pornography, are incompatible with the biblical teaching.
